Serving Carroll County, Ohio

At Pest Pirates, we proudly serve Carroll County and everything that makes it home: farmland, small-town charm, and lake life all mixed together. Around 26,000 people live here, many of them near Atwood Lake and Leesville Lake, both maintained by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District. That mix of water, woods, and open fields is part of what makes it such a great place to live, but it also means more contact with wildlife and bugs than most suburban areas ever see.

Wildlife and pest issues can turn up anywhere around here, but the mix of environments means different areas tend to see a bit more of certain problems. Homes near the lakes often deal with extra mosquito and tick activity in the warmer months, historic buildings in Carrollton and older homes around the county are common spots for bats and wasps, and farmland or rural properties tend to attract raccoons, groundhogs, and skunks looking for shelter. If you'd like to learn more about the agriculture and wildlife common to the area, the OSU Extension office in Carrollton and the county government site are both great local resources.

Need Help with Pest Control?

We handle most general pests, including ants, earwigs, and other common bugs found in and around your home. Pest problems rarely start inside; they're coming from the outside in. While we treat indoors when it's needed, we believe the best protection starts outside, creating a barrier that keeps your family's contact with chemicals to a minimum.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas of Carroll County does Pest Pirates cover?
Wherever you are in Carroll County, we've got you covered. From downtown Carrollton and Minerva to the lake homes around Atwood Lake and Leesville Lake, and out to Malvern, Sherrodsville, and Dellroy, we handle service calls throughout the entire county.
Is your wildlife removal & pest control process safe for families and pets?

Wildlife: Yes. We use humane removal and focus on sealing off entry points to help keep new wildlife from getting in.

Pest control: Our main defense is routine outdoor treatment. Not every home can be fully bug-proofed, so keeping that outside barrier maintained is what actually keeps bugs out, while keeping chemical contact with your family to a minimum. We'll seal up gaps when it makes sense too.

Will pests come back after treatment at my home?
We get it, nobody wants to pay for the same problem twice. That's why we don't just remove the animal and leave. We track down the entry points and seal them up whenever we can, so whatever got in doesn't have a way back inside. Some situations, like certain groundhog burrows, need a case-by-case approach. On the pest side, one visit usually knocks out the immediate issue, but without fixing what's inviting them in or keeping up with routine maintenance, they can end up coming back.
How much do wildlife removal & pest control services cost in Carroll County?
A full inspection covers the inside and outside of your home, including the attic when it's accessible, and runs $140 to $205 after tax. From there, there's a one-time $45 trap setup fee on your initial visit, then wildlife removal runs $140 to $175 per animal removed. We also offer discounts on multiple-animal removals handled during the same visit, depending on the job. Exclusion work is quoted on-site since every repair is different.
How long does it take for pests or wildlife to stop being active after treatment or exclusion?
Once we remove the animal and seal up the entry points, most wildlife activity stops within a few days, you'll notice the scratching and noise disappear pretty quickly. Pest treatments usually start working within 24 to 48 hours, but tougher infestations can take a full treatment cycle before they're fully cleared out. If anything still seems off after we leave, just give us a call and we'll take another look.
